Kindness is Free

Kindness is free. Kindness is also a strength, not a weakness. Do me a favor and think back on the last time that you went out of your way to do something nice for yourself. Maybe you bought yourself something nice, congratulated yourself for an accomplishment, or even told yourself that you look good on that particular day. Now, I want you to think back on the last time that you criticized yourself, however that looks for you. You may have told yourself that you aren’t good enough, doubted where you are in life, or thought about what was wrong with you. Of those times, I’m pretty sure that you are going to show more hatred, negativity, or disdain towards your self when compared to showing yourself kindness.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why is that you may ask? And the simply answer is because it is easier to go to the negative and think these kind of harmful thoughts. To show kindness, on the other hand, is a strength. It is much more difficult, and courageous to be kind than it is to hate.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

In addition, kindness is something that is contagious. When you truly focus on being kind, and when you focus on making a positive impact, you become less stressed in your own life. You are more positive (which is always fun), and you feel more given and motivated to achieve whatever it is you are reaching for.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But, at the same time, it isn’t just about benefiting you, the individual. By being kind, you also have the amazing opportunity to impact someone else’s day and life. Something so simple can can help turn a bad day into a better day just like that. Because kindness shows hope, kindness shows love, kindness shows care, and it helps others to see the good things in life. Everybody could use a little more good in life. Sometimes, you just need a little light from others to see it.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So, never miss the chance to say a kind word, act in a kind manner, or lend a smile for everyone you cross paths with may be fighting a battle that you know absolutely nothing about. You see, we were born to be givers with open hands and an open heart. And sometimes our hands might be empty, but our hearts should always be full to give things. Warm things. Kind things. Sweet things.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Therefore, make it a point to carve your name on hearts both near and far. No act of kindness should be considered small or insignificant. Every compassionate act makes a difference to not only the individual, but the entire world. Think about tit, every single time you help somebody dust themselves off and get up, you are helping humanity rise.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I sincerely have faith in the kindness of human beings. Call me naive. Call me a dreamer. But, this is a belief I hold near and dear to my heart because kindness has no religion. Religions are like narrow roads, but kindness is as vast as the open sky.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So, be kind to people regardless if they deserve your kindness or not. If it reaches the ones who deserve it, then good for you. If it reaches the ones who may not recognize it, then take joy and appreciate your compassion and hope one day they realize what’s being offered.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This being kind no matter what type of mindset will allow you to always come from a place of love and compassion. And kindness will become a way of life.
